ANYTSUGI Gift Wrapping

FUROSHIKI WRAPPING

Because this is a gift for someone who matters,
we wrap it in furoshiki,
Japan’s traditional wrapping cloth.
The wrapping itself is another gift,
one that becomes part of everyday life.

What is Furoshiki?

Wrap. Tie. Unwrap.

For centuries, a single cloth has been an essential part of daily Japanese life—the  furoshiki. Its name traces back to the Edo-period public bathhouse, where it once wrapped bathers’ clothes at the door. Over time, it took on new roles—carrying gifts, holding tools—supporting everyday life in countless ways.

Its greatest charm is that it is never disposable. Tied, it becomes a bag. Unfolded, it is a cloth that brightens daily life. And then it is used to wrap the next gift. Changing shape again and again, it is reborn each time.
