What is Kintsugi?
01

Food Safe & 100% Natural

ANYTSUGI kit contains no synthetic adhesives, including epoxy. It employs Natural Urushi lacquer, used in an authentic Japanese kintsugi technique passed down for over 500 years. As urushi is a natural material, properly cured pieces can be safely used as tableware.

02

Authentic Gold Powder from Japan

While brass powder is often used in modern kintsugi, ANYTSUGI kit contains Authentic Gold Powder made in Japan. Illuminate the scars with a lasting, luminous beauty.

03

Detailed Step-by-Step Guides

ANYTSUGI provides a comprehensive guidebook in both English and Japanese with detailed photos. Even complete beginners can master traditional kintsugi techniques with ease and clarity. For additional guidance, detailed articles are also available on our website whenever you need them.

04

Reusable Tools

ANYTSUGI kit contains all professional-grade tools, allowing you to practice authentic kintsugi at home without traveling to Japan. These tools are reusable for repairing your own broken pieces.

05

Finish approximately 6 pieces

Contains a total of 0.4g of gold and silver powder, allowing beginners to repair 4-6 pieces with a 6-inch plate broken in half. Even after the finishing powder runs out, you can continue repairing more pieces using black or bengala urushi.

Raw Urushi and Powders

Raw Urushi
Natural sap harvested from the urushi tree. Only about 200g can be collected from a single tree that has been cultivated for around 20 years, making it a precious material. Used as the base for restoration.

Wood Powder
Dried wood ground into a fine powder. Used to make kokuso-urushi, which fills in missing areas and builds the foundation layer.

Polishing Powder
A fine mineral powder made from crushed whetstones. Used to make sabi-urushi, which fills small gaps and uneven surfaces.

Bengala Powder
A reddish-brown pigment composed mainly of iron oxide. Used to make bengara-urushi, applied before the final finish.

Black Powder
A carbon-based black pigment. Mixed with lacquer to create kuro-urushi, used for the middle coat.

Gold and Silver Powder

In addition to classic gold powder, this kit also includes silver powder. This not only allows you to repair more pieces, but also lets you enjoy a variety of finishes.

Gold Powder
Decorative metal powder made from finely ground pure gold. Its subtle, muted sheen adds a refined glow to repair lines.

Silver Powder
Decorative metal powder made from finely ground pure silver. It gives a softer, more understated look compared to gold.

Premium Kintsugi Tools

Brush
An ultra-fine brush that makes it easy to draw thin, beautiful lines for an elegant gold finish.

Bamboo Spatula
Used for spreading lacquer. Each one is handcrafted by Japanese artisans for precise, detailed work.

Craft Knife
Used for shaping hardened lacquer. Includes multiple interchangeable blades of different shapes to work with any vessel.

Palette
A generously sized palette for mixing materials.

Spatula
A flexible rubber spatula that makes mixing easy.

Handling Urushi

CAUTION

This kit uses raw urushi lacquer, a traditional material used in authentic kintsugi.

Raw urushi is a natural substance made from the sap of the lacquer tree. Please note that contact with uncured lacquer may cause urushi-rash. Symptoms can include intense itching, rashes, redness, swelling, or blistering.

Always wear nitrile gloves during the process and avoid exposing bare skin.

If urushi comes into contact with your skin, promptly wipe it off with oil and wash the area thoroughly with soap and lukewarm water. If symptoms worsen or do not subside, seek medical care immediately.

Please note that we assume no responsibility for any allergic reactions or skin irritation (urushi-rash) caused by urushi.
