What is Furoshiki?
Wrap. Tie. Unwrap.
For centuries, a single cloth has been an essential part of daily Japanese life—the furoshiki. Its name traces back to the Edo-period public bathhouse, where it once wrapped bathers’ clothes at the door. Over time, it took on new roles—carrying gifts, holding tools—supporting everyday life in countless ways.
Its greatest charm is that it is never disposable. Tied, it becomes a bag. Unfolded, it is a cloth that brightens daily life. And then it is used to wrap the next gift. Changing shape again and again, it is reborn each time.

Shipping Gifts Abroad: About Customs Duties
When shipping overseas, customs duties and import taxes are generally charged to the recipient.
To avoid additional costs or burden on the recipient, we recommend having the order delivered to your own address first, and sending it on to them yourself.
FAQ
Can I buy the furoshiki by itself?
At the moment, furoshiki is available only as a gift-wrapping option. We’re preparing single-item sales; please contact us if you’re interested.
What size are they and what are they made of?
All are about 70 cm × 70 cm(27.5 in × 27.5 in), and made of 100% cotton or 100% organic cotton.
How do I order the gift wrapping?
When you add your item to the cart, select gift wrapping (furoshiki). You can also choose the pattern and whether to include a message card.
Do you ship internationally? What about customs duties?
Orders are accepted from any country that appears in the menu at the top of the page. We’re expanding destinations, so f yours isn’t listed, please contact us.
Please note that import duties or taxes may apply in some countries, and these are the customer’s responsibility.
I want to ship directly to a gift recipient abroad. Who pays the custom duties?
Due to our system and international shipping rules, we sometimes cannot set different addresses for delivery and billing (the party charged for duties and import taxes). To avoid costs for your recipient, we recommend having the order delivered to your own address, then forwarding it yourself.
Are furoshiki washable?
Yes. For best results and to avoid color transfer, we recommend gentle hand washing alone and drying in the shade.
